As an actor and singer, Rosalia has dedicated her career to preserving the songs and stories of her heritage. She has toured her performances throughout the U.S. She can also be seen in film and television productions. Rosalia's one-woman performances are not only captivating, but critically acclaimed. Her most popular performance of "La Llorona"" has been a favorite for the past 14 years.

New Mexico's most famous ghost is brought to life through this interactive Chautauqua presentation with music, dance and storytelling.  The audience meets La Llorona as a young woman and experiences her transition into a ghost.  This program is great for all ages and a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask La Llorona questions and share tales they grew up with.

La Argentinita

 

Meet Encarnacion Lopez Julvez of Spain known as La Argentinita (1898-1945) a dancer, singer, actor and friend of poet Federico Garcia Lorca.  The audience learns about her life as a performer, her struggles and success.  In character, Rosalia sings Spanish folk songs La Argentinita recorded with Lorca.

Music and Dance of the Southwest

 

This interactive program is a journey through the beautiful song and dance found in the cultural landscape of the United States. Audience members join in with rhythmic instruments, singing and even flamenco movements.  This program ties music and dance standards with visual art through artistic representations of music and dance,.

Drama and Stories of the Southwest

 

Audience members pantomime and act out traditional folk stories to incorporate acting skills and techniques.  Audience members create sound effects and musical backgrounds unique to the southwest.  Many of the stories told are cautionary tales and encourage respect for the earth.  Audience members even create a unique collective folktale.

The fun of southwest cultural traditions come to life in this exciting program for young audiences.  The use of puppets, instruments and pantomime encourage audience participation and an engaging arts experience.

New Mexico Woman

 

This program is a tribute to the many Hispanic women who have made tremendous contributions to our world.  Using shawl and simple costume changes, Rosalia transforms into women who are left out of history books.
